Synopsis: SciFi’s favorite crabby A.I. is again on a mission. The case against the too-big-to-fail GrayCris Corporation is floundering, and more importantly, authorities are beginning to ask more questions about where Dr. Mensah’s SecUnit is.
And Murderbot would rather those questions went away. For good.
“I hate caring about stuff. But apparently once you start, you can’t just stop.”
Rogue Protocol is the third novella in The Murderbot Diaries. This is one of those series that is just getting better with each installment! There was also a recent announcement that there is a full-length novel on the horizon. FUCK YES!
Our dear snarky MurderBot is still struggling with humanity, but is also becoming more human than they ever wanted to be. The character development of MurderBot, considering the type of POV they are, is quite glorious to read! Speaking of characters, Wells brings us a number of new individuals yet again in Rogue Protocol. As much as I missed ART, Miki is a wonderful character. Just really sweet & loyal & such a great friend.. SIGH.
The thing I truly love about The MurderBot Diaries is that it deals with so many issues not often seen within the science fiction genre. This series is incredibly diverse & I fucking LOVE that! Non-binary characters, ace characters, human characters, AI characters ::starts rambling on like Bubba in Forest Gump:: There is A LOT packed within these wee novellas!
Rogue Protocol is thoughtful & thrilling, action-packed & intelligent. It’s a great addition to the series. I’m really looking forward to diving back into the mind of MurderBot in Exit Strategy!
